6 Reasons to Dig Deep to Find your Why!
You dig deep and ask the tough questions in life in order to transform your life and make a dynamic impact on others.
But most people will float through life accepting what comes their way without ever attempting to dig deep and ask the important questions in life? Roughly half of American’s make New Year’s resolution, yet only around 8% ever follow through.
Most of our New Year’s resolutions are superficial and rarely represent any life changing aspect of our lives. Most people want to change, they want to transform but instead of making any movement in that direction they glide through life simply accepting what is in front of them. More than any other time in history we need to learn to dig deep into our lives. We need to dig deep in order to learn more about ourselves, push out all of the distractions, and transform our lives with purpose. It is at this point where we can guide our lives with intention. Instead of floating from place to place hoping something great will come our way.
Find Your Why
The most important aspect of digging deep is finding your why? Why are you here? What is your purpose? What are you living for? Why are you getting out of bed every morning? These are questions almost every person has asked, but very few have ever taken the time to discover. Your why will determine what you do, how you do it, and where you spend your time. Without your why, without knowing what you are attempting to accomplish you are floating around hoping for the best.
If you want to live differently, then take to time to find out your why? Discover your gifts, talents, and what you uniquely offer to the world. Then do everything you can in your power to make it happen. This will not be an easy process, but once you dig deep a whole new world can begin to appear you never knew existed.
You also need to dig deep in order to eliminate the distractions in your life. Think for a moment about all of the noise which exists around your. TV, social media, texting, chatting, friends, and so on. Each of these streams is sending you some type of information or idea. Most of which are simply noise. They do not push you closer to your goals nor do they help you in making decisions. In fact most of these streams are simply a distraction from the larger thoughts of life.
But when you know and understand your why it is much easier to eliminate the noise in your life. When you know your why you are “turning off” those channels which do not benefit supporting your why. You can more easily eliminate the distraction which are not feeding your desire to dig deep, find your why, and make a difference. With so much noise out there and only getting worse by they day, it is imperative you do everything in your power to eliminate as many distractions as possible.
Transform Your Life
On a basic level you want to change and transform your life into something better, but do not know where to begin. This is why you need to dig deep and find your why? Your why gives you reason and a plan to transform your life. Your why gives you direction in knowing how you need to transform your life.
If you are floating through life then you are stagnant. You exist based upon any thought, idea, or influence which was placed in front of you. You are being formed by other people’s expectations and ideas. Your why gives you the ability to seek out those thoughts, ideas, and influences which will aid and benefit in your transformation into something powerful and impactful. Do not attempt to transform your life without figuring out your why. Your why will be the map which leads you on the journey of transformation.
Live With Purpose
When you float through life you are not living a life of purpose. You are simply living. Digging deep to find your why gives your life purpose. And when you live with purpose you are going to live differently than anyone around you. Purpose gets you out of bed in the morning, purpose directs your choices, and gives you the amazing ability to say no.
This ability is available to everyone, yet few take the opportunity to discover their purpose and live a life full of meaning.
Make a Positive Impact
Unless you live in the woods completely off the grid with no access to the outside world, it doesn’t take long to see the tremendous amount of negativity swirling around our culture. You are living in an age where news, social media, and blogs are thriving off negativity and the destruction of others. It does not take a genius to understand that any culture bent on this type of action will only continue to decline. The main reason people act this way is to gain attention and because they do not know their why. And when you do not know your why, and are misguided, then you must destroy those around you in order to make yourself look better.
When you dig deep to live a different life and discover your why you will automatically make a positive impact. Your why drives a positive change, a positive impact, and you are riding that wave. Negativity thrives on a lack of purpose, but positivity cultivates in knowing our why. Let your why transform the lives around your in a positive manner as you impact this world for good.
Guiding others is extremely difficult when you don’t know where you are going. Yet too many times we attach ourselves to mentors wanting them to takes us to a place they have never been. But when you know your why and choose to live a life where you dig deep then you have traveled a path to take others.
One of the greatest joys of digging deep and knowing your why is the ability to open others up to the same experience. Society is filled with explorers searching for meaning in any corner they can find. Having the knowledge to know what it takes to release your why into the world is extremely attractive and bring people to your doorstep. Never miss an opportunity to help others discover their why so they too can release their gifts into this world.
This is a gut check time to see what you truly want to do with your life. Do you want to continue to live your life like everyone around you and hope something good comes along. Or do you want to dig deep, transform your life, and make a dynamic impact on those around you? The choice is yours to make and could begin the most amazing journey you ever could have imagined.
