If you do not control your life, and find purpose, someone else will do it for you. You are the CEO of your life. No one cares more about your success than you, so you must OWN your Oomph! You must take responsibility for your life and success. Making an Intentional Impact is taking responsibility for your life and taking the necessary steps to maximize your life and become the best you, you can be. Living a life of Intentional Impact will create Oomph instead of a thud!
Your Oomph! is your energy, your vitality, what you put into your life and creating a dynamic impact. If you own your Oomph! you will utilize and maximize the following five characteristics of your life.
Your life is good, but everyone can optimize their lives to make them great. You optimize your life by finding your purpose and focusing in on what your specific purpose means throughout your entire life.
When you have an objective and clear goals you begin the process of optimizing your life. You begin to clean out all the little “What’s” and “To-Do’s” which consume your day and have nothing to do with your objective. Soon everything you do in life is about achieving life on your terms and doing tasks which take you to that goal. Without a clear objective you will wander aimlessly through life attaching yourself to whatever seems attractive at the time. But when you engage in the You Experience you want to maximize your life and direction at every turn and live life with intention.
If you are going to have legitimate success in any area of your life then you need to engage your obstacles. What this means is you need to specifically identify those areas of your life which are impeding your progress. Admit to the pain, fears, doubt, loathing, lack of skills, or poor self-image to yourself. You need to review these obstacles in your life and then find out how they have an impact on your life, career, and relationships. If you do not face these head on then you will always come to a place where you are stuck and unable to move forward because of your obstacles.
The You Experience identifies your obstacles, understands their impact, and then engages your obstacles appropriately for maximum impact.
A large part of the You Experience is to be moldable, which will come in two different forms. First off, you need to realize even your best laid plans are going to fail at times. You need to be able to give yourself enough grace, no matter what the situation, to pick yourself up and keep raging. Be flexible enough to adjust your goals or tasks based upon outside forces you may have no control over.
Secondly you also need to constantly be learning. If you want to live a full life, be fully you, and have a dynamic impact it WILL take you very far outside your comfort zone. Be moldable enough to learn, to grow, to receive feedback, and change course if necessary. Be flexible enough to be a continuous student no matter what course you take in life.
Talking about the You Experience is great, but does not mean much until you put it into action. The first step is this process is to create a plan. If you ever hope to reach any destination you have to have a solid plan. So it is with your life and success. You need to ensure you are taking your why, optimizing your life, identifying your obstacles, and then creating a solid plan for you to reach your goals. Part of your planning may be saying no. In fact, a major part of your planning may be saying no, or having a NOT To-Do list more than a to-do list. Either way, until you can create a solid plan and see a clear path you will still wander aimlessly around taking whatever path seems easiest.
Now you need to put your plan into action and execute against your goals. No matter what, you have to put in the work. But your hustle is your hustle, it happens on your timing, with your energy, to get your results. The main objective in the You Experience is to constantly taking a step forward every day to make a better You!
