Unleashing Your One Good Thing
Everyone has a good thing they desire to achieve. You may not be working on it at this time or even know it exists. Which is the reason we need to discuss this missed opportunity.
Your good thing, may not be an overarching grand plan. Like creating world peace or ending hunger. It may be specifically restricted to your life and community. But it is a good thing which needs to be unleashed. Your good thing is longing to be tapped into and used effectively. It may just take some understanding in order to clear a path.
Your good thing is not restricted to just one pursuit. It can be, but it can also be what one good thing are you going to pursue in any given day.
For myself, some days my one good thing may be completing my next book. Another day may be working on our Knights of Heroes camp. Or it may be serving at my church, mentoring other young men, spending concentrated time with my family, or growing a business.
These pursuits are all good. I fully enjoy engaging in each activity and they are life giving to my soul. When unwrapping your good ensure you are not limiting yourself to one pursuit. You are more dimensional than one pursuit and your life is vibrant. Don’t spend your life tied to an idea of pursing one thing.
Finding your good thing is necessary in your pursuit of a Thrival Life. In this modern age, it is too easy to get bogged down by expectations, requirements, rules, technology, or consumerism. There are too many pressures which pull you in multiple directions. Without a light, you may travel many unexpected paths in your attempt to find meaning.
Your good thing is the oasis in the middle of the desert. It will fill your soul and provide a purpose which is far greater than what you may be pursuing. You have probably felt the feeling of being locked into something greater than yourself.
A recent survey out the UK states that the older we get the less we like our jobs. Not finding, or working, in an area of purpose or passion is one of the reasons for this burnout. The researches tell readers how important it is to find a project you can work at with friends or co-workers which fills your passion.
This is why you need to find, and work, in your good thing. If you are working from your heart, instead of your head, the work you do will be life giving and purposeful.
A life-giving pursuit, whether a hobby or a full-time job, has addition health and well-being benefits far beyond simply feeling good. Your entire attitude toward life and existence can be altered by pouring yourself into life giving pursuits.
The beauty of your good thing is it can happen within the context of your current life. Yet, the lasting effects are truly transformational to your soul. Whether you want to write, serve, build, grow, or create you can complete these in your current circumstances.
You may have to wake up earlier, stay up later, drop some other activities, or rearrange your schedule. But if you have something tugging at your heart, then you will truly make the effort to make the difference in your life.
